tuesday night if it comes down to provisional ballots in ohio that, by law, don't get counted right away. right away. >> unless the president ones overwhelmingly in florida and virginia and doesn't need ohio and also wins in wisconsin and iowa and nevada and new hampshire, if if comes down to ohio, we won't have a winner and we won't even have the votes as you said counted until 10 days from election day. >> reporter: the latest poll numbers out show president obama and mitt romney in a dead heat. a new abc news "washington post" poll has both candidates tied at 48%. obama takes the lead by one point in and nbc news "wall street journal" poll getting the support of 48% of likely voters to romney's 47%. today, president obama holds rallies in wisconsin, ohio and iowa. he will wrap up with with the evening rally in des moines. mitt romney will begin his final day of campaigning in central florida.

several major questions on the ballot in maryland. the post endorses question 4, the dream act. on question 5, whether to approve the new congressional redistricting map in maryland, the post recommends against it. the post editorial board supports question six to allow same-sex marriage. on the big issue. expanded gambling including a casino at national harbor, the post says marylanders should vote for question 7 saying the state can't afford to pass up the projected revenue. the effort to expand gambling in maryland has resulted in a massive tv campaign with dueling ads. question seven on the ballot could lead to casino gambling at national harbor but it now face as a last-minute legal challenge. we have a report.

>> reporter: voters are dizzy trying to sort it all out. should they say yes nor to the controversial referendum. >> i'm going to say yes to question seven. >> we said no to question seven. >> reporter: question seven asks maryland voter ifs they want one more casino in the state, if they want casinos to able to operate table games and if they want more slots terminals, all with the primary goal of raising extra revenue for education. >> ultimately, when you get down to, it it is all about jobs. it is about respect to prince george's county. >> we are both educators. we've learned in the past the money doesn't make it to the classroom and any money that does come in almost feels like blood money to me and a tax on the poor. >> reporter: the truth, post says school spending won't increase and maryland's top financial official agrees. >> i'm opposed to question seven because i can very clearly tell the people of maryland there is no new education money coming from this casino. >> reporter: the cost of saying

yes or no is extremely expensive, an estimate nearly $80 million altogether, way more than the nearly $20 million spent by governor martin o'malley and bob ehrlich in the 2010 gubernatorial race. >> when i think about my public school's budget, that really irks me to hear me that $80 million is spent on marketing and advertising. >> reporter: to complicate matter, former county councilmember filed a lawsuit friday challenging the constitutionality of question seven. he claim the majority of all registered voters would have to approve the measure, not just the majority of those who turn out to vote. maryland delegate michael mcdermott has filed a complaint with the state prosecutor. he alleges that the councilman is going to be paid moppy by gaming interests in west virginia for drumming up opposition to question seven in his voting district. the season started out

-- photos of andre jackson on it. pittsburgh zoo remains closed indefinitely this morning after a two-year-old boy was mauled to death there. the boy fell about 14 feet off a deck into a den where there were 11 african painted dogs on sunday. witnesses immediately told staff members who called police but the animals mauled the boy. the zoo says it is not clear when he died from the fall or the attack. zoo keeps are managed to get 10 of the dogs away from the child. one dog had to be shot. imagine in, opening the door to your storage unity and finding a giant snake that was what happened to one couple in washington state. it turned out to be a 15-foot boa con descrictor caught between furniture and old mattresses and nobody seemed to know how it got there. >> we kind of thought it was someone's playing a prank on us
